3 Weeks until CBHM Race Sunday-Spectator Parking
CBHM is 3 weeks AWAY-Let’s Talk Spectator Viewing and Parking
Last week talked about Runner Parking for our Point to Point Race. This week we cover Spectator Viewing for your family and friends.
Best Runner Viewing:
The Village of Woodstock
#1 Woodstock-Iron Bridge
You can view your runner twice in Woodstock. Park in the Billings Farm Visitors lot Route 12 and Old River RD (on the left) then walk towards Rte 12 on the sidewalk, take a left towards Woodstock. The runners pass onto River Rd then return after running through Middle Bridge on Elm Street over the iron bridge.
#2 Woodstock-Middle Bridge
Go for a coffee, stop for breakfast, shop but if you want to see your runner come through Middle Bridge on the Woodstock Green you’ll need to park at a meter no later than 7:30 a.m. before the meters are all taken.
Finish Line Spectator Viewing and Parking (Dewey’s Mills Polo Field)
Parking Open 8 a.m.-10 a.m.
- From Interstate 89: Take Exit 1 (Woodstock exit) and follow Route 4 west towards Woodstock. Pass the Quechee Gorge Village, about 2.4 miles from the exit. Head south toward US-4 W travel about 0.5 mi. Turn right onto Dewey’s Mills Rd. Travel about 0.7 mi. Turn right into the field.
- From Interstate 91: Take Interstate to White River Junction, Vermont, to Interstate 89 North. Then follow the directions above for I-89.
- From the West: Take Vermont Route 4 east; go 8 miles past Woodstock. Turn left onto Dewey’s Mills RD. Travel about 0.7 mi. Turn right into the field.
Spectator parking is very convenient to the Finish Line at the Polo Field. Just off Dewey’s Mills RD. Follow the signs and directions from the police and CBHM Volunteers.
After dropping your runner off at runner parking or at Suicide Six Ski Area, head to Dewey’s Mills RD; travel down the hill to Spectator Parking; volunteers will direct you where to park. Walk through the field to the finish line area.
When at the finish line, please stay behind the fencing (for runner safety) and DO NOT move into the runner lane or cross the road when runners are approaching the finish line.
No Parking at Taftsville Bridge
There is NO spectator parking or viewing at the Taftsville Bridge. You could get a traffic ticket or possibly get your car towed.
The two best places to watch runners are the Village of Woodstock and at the Finish Line (see above).
No Parking at the Ott Dog Snack Bar
There is no parking at the Ott Dog (corner of Route 4 and Dewey’s Mills Rd.)
No Parking at the Strong House Spa
Please Note-Spectator Parking IS NOT the Runner Parking lot-that’s up the hill closer to Route 4.
If your runner parked in the RUNNERS LOT and got bused to the race Start Line in Pomfret, you should-pick up their drop bag then hop on the FREE Bus to return to the Runner Lot.
