CBHM Training Tip #5-SNEAKERS
So far we’ve covered how to set up a training schedule; how to fuel your run with real food; how to properly hydrate before and during your run; and how to prevent injuries by stretching and taking a yoga for runners class. Now we’d like to help you get the right sneaker for your run.
Do you go with more cushioning and protection to offset the impact of the roads or a lighter, speedier version that will help you run faster? Do you need any measure of stability as your form breaks down? And how light is too light? Those are criteria you need to consider when seeking the pair you’ll wear on half-marathon race-day.
We followed the CBHM 2021 Team: TuTu Much Fun when they visited Stateline Sports in West Lebanon, NH looking for sneakers for their 13.1 run.
None these women have run a road road before of this distance and were looking for answers on how to choose the right shoe for them.
